Your assumptions
The starting figures are an example, not market benchmarks.
Your estimate
- Interest per month
- Total ongoing cost per month
- Your scenario, including one-off costs
| Delay assumption | Total cost |
|---|---|
| 1 month | |
| 3 months | |
| 6 months |
How the estimate works
Monthly interest = average drawn debt × annual interest rate ÷ 100 ÷ 12.
Scenario cost = (monthly interest + additional monthly costs) × delay months + one-off costs.
For the example above: £33.8m × 7.5% ÷ 12 = £211,250 interest per month. With £40,000 monthly costs, four months and £90,000 one-off costs, the total is £1,095,000.
Displayed totals are rounded to the nearest pound. This is simple-interest scenario arithmetic. It excludes compounding, changing loan balances, fees not entered, tax, inflation, lost income and contractual claims. It does not estimate the probability of delay or savings from a Gate Zero review.
Read the cost-of-delay guide and BSR charging guide for context. The tool is a planning aid, not financial or legal advice.
